HAPPY! Isang salitang pagbigkas mo pa lang ay nakakasaya na at nakakapositive vibes! Pero ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin ng salitang ito? And more importantly paano nga ba maging masaya ang isang tao?

In psychology, happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being which can be defined by, among others, positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.  Happiness is  a sense that one’s life is good, meaningful and worthwhile.  

As moms, it is our ultimate goal to make sure our children are happy. Ayon sa isang survey ng Happy Tummy Council, kung saan tinanong ang mga nanay kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng Happiness sa kanila, ito ang top 3 sa kanilang mga sagot.. Complete family, a bright future ahead, and healthy kids!

Importante sa ating mga mommy na mapalaki nating healthy at happy ang ating mga anak, hindi ba? Pero paano nga ba natin ito maaachieve?

Kailangan nila ng nurturing environment - tamang kalinga, sapat na oras at pagmamahal ng mga magulang, at siyempre proper nutrition o wasto at balanseng nutrisyon!

Magiging happy ang isang bata kung siya ay may pamilyang nagmamahal at nagaaruga sa kanya at kung nakakapaglaro siya kasama ang kanyang mga kaibigan sa isang safe at peaceful na environment. Every child should be able to develop good social skills and to have equal opportunities with everyone.

How about providing proper nutrition? Saan nga ba tayo magsisimula sa pagbibigay ng wastong nutrisyon para sa ating mga anak?

Optimal health starts with a healthy tummy!  Yes mga mommy, sa tiyan nagsisimula ang lahat! Did you know that the gut houses both health and happiness? Yes, it does! There are 4 primary chemicals that affect happiness – Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins. Serotonin which gives us good mood is not only secreted in the brain but also in the gut or tummy as well, in fact, 80% of Serotonin comes from the gut! So kung healthy ang tummy natin, happy din tayo! Sa tiyan din natin matatagpuan ang  karamihan sa ating mga immune cells na nakakapagpatibay ng ating resistensiya. Kapag mayroon tayong strong immunity, mas malayo tayo sa panganib na dulot ng mga iba’t ibang sakit at karamdaman.

So what makes a healthy tummy? Let’s start with healthy food – lagi nating siguraduhin na naibibigay natin ang tama at balanseng nutrisyon. Ayon sa Pinggang Pinoy, halos kalahati ng pinggan ay  fresh fruits and leafy vegetables. Huwag nating kalimutan na dapat ay laging kasama dito ang mga go, grow at glow foods. Kaakibat sa pagkakaroon ng healthy diet ang regular exercise at siyempre ang wastong oras ng tulog at pahinga. Ano pa kaya ang ibang makakatulong para magkaroon ng healthy tummy?

Ayon sa mga bagong pag aaral nakakatulong din ang PROBIOTICS  tulad ng Lactobacillus reuteri sa pag achieve ng healthy tummy because it improves proper digestion and absorption of nutrients.
