BABY DEVELOPMENT

Another 1 of the 5 senses is nicely coming along!

This week, the thorax begins to move. For the mean time though, it’s still an irregular rise and fall as your little one inhales amniotic fluid—the liquid that protects your baby while being carried inside your womb. This mechanism kick starts the sense of smell as the fluid carries aromatic molecules.

However, your baby won’t really perceive odors for real yet. Not until the seventh month, when the nervous system becomes sufficiently mature!

YOUR BODY

So it has been weeks since you missed a period on your menstrual cycle. To be exact, you are now in your 17th week of amenorrhea, which is the absence of menstruation.

In about 24 weeks, you’ll finally be able to meet your little one face to face! And the closer it gets to homestretch, the more you’re feeling thrilled and energized. However though, you’re also feeling a bit overwhelmed.

You know what? That is totally normal. Don’t hesitate to talk to your doctor if it bothers you. You aren’t the first to go through this for it’s quite common for pregnant women to feel some kind of mixed emotions.

NUTRITION

Constipation is one of the typical issues that women encounter during pregnancy. Nothing much to worry ‘cause it’s completely normal! Here, we’ve listed down some simple remedies to help you manage a clogged up colon.

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Eat fiber-rich foods such as fresh fruits, veggies, dried peas, and beans. Whole grain breads and cereals are good options as well.

If the problem persists, don’t hesitate to consult with your doctor.

TIPS

“Is it safe to spend some intimate moments with my partner while I’m pregnant?”

You may have been wondering if it’s okay to have sex while pregnant. Put your fears to bed. Sexual intercourse won’t harm your little one ‘cause babies are tucked away safely inside a mother’s womb!

Stop worrying and start enjoying. As a matter of fact, many couples find this particular period as a sexually intense time. You curves are become softer and breasts grow larger than usual. These are all good reasons to feel especially attractive!
